Hello, I’m Sige.
In case you’re not sure how to pronounce my name, it rhymes with “prestige”. Sige is an ancient name that represents the feminine archetypes of silence and contemplation. My name is meaningful to me because it reminds me to slow down, tune in and connect with my true nature. My name also speaks to my lifelong call to empower women to know and love themselves deeply.
I am not just a therapist. I am also an artist, an edge-walker and a bridger of worlds. I am a put-together professional and a witchy, wild woman. I am called to help you wake up, live from your heart, serve others and heal the earth.
Sige Weisman, MFT
Licensed Marriage & Family Therapist #47802
Here’s how I work …
My approach is body-centered, relational and mindfulness-based. I believe that an “experience”, or a direct encounter with sensations, memories, images, thoughts and feelings, is a more powerful and lasting agent for change than cognitive “understanding” alone.
During our time together, I will turn our attention to your whole being, which includes not only your mind, where you weave stories and create meaning, but also your body, where you sense and feel, as well. My goal is to help you slow down and tune in to find your INNER WISDOM – the place from where you can get CLEAR and HONEST about what actually works for YOUR life – where you can let go of being “good” and constantly orienting around others.

Therapeutic Approaches
-
Psychodynamic and Relational Psychotherapy
What happened in past relationships usually finds its way into our current relationships, including the relationship between client and therapist. Together, we will use our relationship as a vehicle to notice and transform unconscious and deeply conditioned relational patterns.
-
Internal Family Systems Therapy
Developed by psychologist Richard Schwartz, IFS is based on the idea that the mind is made up of interconnected parts, each with its own unique role and perspective. IFS helps you connect with, understand and heal these wounded parts so they don’t run the show.
-
Psychobiological Approach to Couple Therapy
Developed by Stan Tatkin, PACT combines cutting edge research from neurobiology, arousal regulation and attachment theory to help couples create a “Couple Bubble” to shift out of conflict and create a secure functioning relationship that allows for deeper and more loving connections.
-
EMDR Therapy
Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing is powerful technology for healing psychological damage caused by traumatic events. It is clinically proven to treat emotional trauma that results from war, physical and sexual abuse, accidents, disasters, as well as events throughout one’s life that lead to symptoms like low self-esteem and performance anxiety.
-
Somatic Therapy
Is a mindfulness based, body-oriented approach that draws from Eastern spiritual traditions and Western methodology. Together we’ll bring awareness to your body’s structures and habitual patterns in order to access unconscious core material, including the hidden core beliefs which shape your life, relationships, and self-image.
